Why “Cheap AI Content” May Not Replace Original Creative Identity

BBMP Reflection

We engaged with a YouTube community couple of weeks ago, arguing that the said video advocating that Ai can not replace animation was actually made with Ai.

While I had rather review from a broader standpoint, animation included.. Original creative workflow indeed can not be replaced by AI especially the cheap alternatives and my reasons are below.

One of the biggest arguments surrounding AI-generated media is cost.

Many people believe studios and companies will always choose cheaper automated systems over human creators whenever possible.

In some situations, that may happen.

Businesses naturally look for efficiency, scalability, and faster production pipelines. AI-assisted systems can already reduce workload in areas like editing, image generation, concept development, and repetitive production tasks.

However, cheaper production does not automatically create stronger identity.

As AI-generated content becomes more common online, audiences are also becoming more sensitive to repetition, artificial patterns, and generic presentation styles.

In fact, some platforms now openly identify AI-generated media through labels, watermarks, or metadata systems. What was once hidden is increasingly becoming visible.

This creates an interesting shift.

Originality itself may become more valuable.

Human-made work often carries:

  • imperfections
  • intentional choices
  • emotional nuance
  • cultural specificity
  • lived experience

These are difficult to automate fully.

The challenge for creators is not pretending AI does not exist.

The challenge is developing creative identity strong enough to remain recognizable regardless of tools being used.

A creator who only depends on technical execution may struggle more in the future.

But creators who develop:

  • storytelling ability
  • perspective
  • emotional interpretation
  • recognizable voice
  • authentic creative direction

may continue standing out even within AI-assisted industries.

Technology changes production methods.

But meaningful identity still matters.
